MANSAG is an association incorporated and established exclusively for charitable, education, scientific and research purposes. MANSAG is an acronym for Medical Association of Nigerians Across Great Britain. This association was formed in 1997 following a long period of cross fertilisation of ideas amongst Nigerian doctors resident in the United Kingdom. It is one of the main bodies representing Nigerian Medical doctors and allied professionals in the British Isles. MANSAG represents interests of over 5000 Physicians, Nurses, Radiographers, Pharmacists and other Healthcare professionals of Nigerian origin. The association recognises the wealth of potential in the diversity of the professional as well as intellectual capacity of its members against a background of the dearth of medical skills in the developing world. The association wishes to play a pivotal role in the new world order, partnering with similar concerned organisations and bodies to improve the health and welfare of the less privileged, particularly those from Africa and Nigeria.

1. FEDERAL MINISTRY OF HEALTH (FMH)

The Federal Ministry of Health now recognises the amount of talent residing in the UK and appreciates the contribution that MANSAG can make in the Healthcare Delivery Systems in Nigeria. Your contribution will be invaluable in promoting good health care delivery back home and every little helps.

2.MEDICAL AND DENTAL COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (MDCN)

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria recognises MANSAG (whilst maintaining the right checks) for Nigerian Health Care Professionals to gain registration seamlessly to enable Practitioners abroad who want to help or indeed return to Nigeria.

3. NETWORKING

We have a great talent of healthcare professionals in all specialties including, Consultants, General practitioners, AHPs (Pharmaceutical Practitioners, Radiographers, Audiologists), Professors, GP trainers, College Tutors, Clinical Directors, Senior Appraisers, Doctors involved in Research projects and publishing articles, and Healthcare professionals doing Voluntary work etc.

4. MEDICAL MISSION

MANSAG is already supporting some Health Care Projects in Nigeria such as, medical missions (IDPs, training weeks) and joint annual educational week with Nigeria Medical Association in Nigeria, Association of Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) and The Canadian Association of Nigerian Physician and Dentists (CANPAD).

5. WELFARE

To provide confidential support for colleagues in times difficulties including bereavement and work-related crises (tapping into the vast expertise and experience of colleagues through our welfare secretary). To rally around in times of need and to rejoice together in good times.
