The Medical Association of Nigerians Across Great Britain, MANSAG is delighted to invite you to its 16th Annual Education Symposium and Charity Ball taking place on Saturday 2nd May 2026 at the Delta by Marriott Newcastle and Gateshead.
The symposium doors open to welcome delegates for registration at 8:00hrs on the 2nd of May 2026 and ends at 23:59hrs after the Charity Ball with departure of delegates.
This year’s theme, Boosting Capacity, embodies our commitment to empowering all health care professionals of Nigerian heritage as we continue to contribute to excellence in health care delivery in the UK despite current challenges around workforce training and retention.Â
The Symposium promises energising plenary academic sessions, transformative workshops, unlimited abstract presentation sessions and invaluable networking, all designed to restore confidence and inspire progress. Join us for compelling discussions on genetics, artificial intelligence, Cultural transitions, emotional and mental wellbeing, quality improvement, diaspora engagement, and leadership—and leave feeling refreshed, motivated, and ready to embrace new opportunities within our thriving community. The day will conclude with the Galadima Lecture, delivered by Professor Dilly Anumba the 5th President of MANSAG, whose exemplary career, leadership, and dedication embody the vision of this lecture.
To crown the gathering, we are thrilled to present ‘A Mini Story of Our Story.’ This specially tailored performance features vignettes from a larger play exploring history, politics, and health inequities through the lens of Sickle Cell Disease. It serves as a compelling ‘appetizer’ to a very tasty meal, bridging clinical excellence with the cultural heart of our community.
The Education Symposium is the occasion to announce our 2026 Annual MANSAG Travel Fellowship Awards. If you would like to apply for the Travel Fellowship Award this year, please visit our Travel Fellowship Grant Registration page here.
Please also note that Abstract submissions for the Symposium are now open. Applicants who wish to submit their abstracts for consideration and presentation may do so on our Abstract submission page here.
