MANSAG was formed in 1997 after cross fertilization of ideas amongst Nigerian doctors resident in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Jide Menakaya was inaugurated as the 9th President of MANSAG at the 27th Annual General Meeting held in Manchester.

1. FEDERAL MINISTRY OF HEALTH (FMH)

The Federal Ministry of Health now recognises the amount of talent residing in the UK and appreciates the contribution that MANSAG can make in the Healthcare Delivery Systems in Nigeria. Your contribution will be invaluable in promoting good health care delivery back home and every little helps.

2.MEDICAL AND DENTAL COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (MDCN)

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria recognises MANSAG (whilst maintaining the right checks) for Nigerian Health Care Professionals to gain registration seamlessly to enable Practitioners abroad who want to help or indeed return to Nigeria. 

3. NETWORKING

We have a great talent of healthcare professionals in all specialties including, Consultants, General practitioners, AHPs (Pharmaceutical Practitioners, Radiographers, Audiologists), Professors, GP trainers, College Tutors, Clinical Directors, Senior Appraisers, Doctors involved in Research projects and publishing articles, and Healthcare professionals doing Voluntary work etc. We have a good Database of these great talents and you can tap into this when colleagues need help with induction into the UK healthcare system, career pathways, revalidation difficulties, and getting involved in Voluntary work in Nigeria.

4. MEDICAL MISSION

MANSAG is already supporting some Health Care Projects in Nigeria such as, medical missions (IDPs, training weeks) and joint annual educational week with Nigeria Medical Association in Nigeria, Association of Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) and The Canadian Association of Nigerian Physician and Dentists (CANPAD).

To provide confidential support for colleagues in times difficulties including bereavement and work related crises (tapping into the vast expertise and experience of colleagues through our welfare secretary). To rally around in times of need and to rejoice together in good times.
