Dr. Andrew Alalade is the General Secretary of the Medical Association of Nigerian Specialists Across Great Britain (MANSAG).
Dr. Andrew F. Alalade is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He holds an honorary Senior Clinical Lectureship at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and serves as Regional Director for the North-West England Neurosurgery Teaching Programme and Research Lead in his Department.
He graduated from the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria in 2004. In 2010, he was selected as one of the only 9 successful candidates at the National Neurosurgical Selection Interviews, to be admitted into the UK Neurosurgical Formal Training Programme at ST3.
Dr. Alalade obtained his CCT Specialist Registration status in 2016 after completing neurosurgical training in the London North Thames rotation and was awarded the BASO-ACS Ronald Raven Travelling Fellowship and the HCA International Foundation Award, undertaking advanced subspecialty fellowships at Weill Cornell Medical College (USA), the Princess Alexandra Hospital (Australia), and the Walton Centre (UK).
Beyond his clinical and academic work, Dr. Alalade serves as the General Secretary of the Medical Association of Nigerians Across Great Britain (MANSAG) and is one of the Trustees of the British Association of Black Surgeons. He was honoured as a “Diversity Leader” by the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS) in 2022, nominated for the ASiT Silver Scalpel Trainer Award 2025, and won the Black British Business Award (BBBA) for STEM in 2017. Alongside his NHS practice, he is the Director of NeuroFix Limited.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, travelling, reading, and writing.

MANSAG was formed in 1997 after cross fertilization of ideas amongst Nigerian doctors resident in the United Kingdom.
