Consultant, Paediatric haemoglobinopathy Lead, Comprehensive Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre, Evelina Children's Hospital, Guy's and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, London. Specialist interests include:

• The determinants of severe sickle cell disease-stroke and renal complications
• Establsihing sickle cell disease cohorts in Africa through country pilots and a volunteering scheme

I am also the Secretary for the Forum on Haemoglobin Disorders which is responsible for ensuring standards in sickle cell and thalasssaemia in the UK.
