DIASPORA HEALTH LIAISON DESK
This is to inform the Nigeria Diaspora, in particular ANPA, MANSAG and all
other groups who wish to undertake medical missions to Nigeria that the
Federal Ministry of Health has established a Diaspora Liaison Desk in the
Department of Hospital Services to Serve as a liaison between the Nigerian
Health professionals in the Diaspora and the Federal Ministry of Health.
This collaborative effort is to ensure proper and effective coordination for
all medical missions undertaken in Nigeria by the Diaspora.
2. The Liaison desk will work with the Nigerian National Volunteer Service
to ensure proper liaison and coordination in Federal Government’s efforts to
engage the Nigerian Diaspora in the area of health services.
3. The collaboration will make for proper data generation on the medical
missions as well as on the activities of the health professionals from the
Diaspora against the current practice whereby the efforts of the Diaspora in
arranging and undertaking medical missions to Nigeria is hardly well
recognized or nationally appreciated. It will also assist the Ministry
create a data of Resource persons that can be called upon when and where
necessary to help address the challenges of health management in Nigeria.
Furthermore, data generated will guide government in responding to the
prevalence of any diseases that may occur in specific areas of the country.
4. Accordingly, ANPA, MANSAG, all health professional groups and any
Nigerian Diaspora organization/association that wish to undertake medical
